This Is For The Birds

Posted by Picasa

The other day as I was headed out to the store to get dog food for 3 dogs, cat food for 1 cat who is nursing 3 kittens, rabbit feed for 15 rabbits, and the real food for the 7 people that actually live in the house I mentioned that I needed to remember to get bird food as well.  Jeremy's response..."Oh what, we're feeding the birds now too?"  Needless to say, with that response, I did not get the bird food.  So, with no bird food in hand and our feathered friends anxiously awaiting the refill of their feeder, we comprimised and made them some food from things we already had in the house.  It was a fun little activity for the kids and we hung it right outside the kitchen window so we can see how much they enjoy it.

Missions Sale

The Kids For Christ group that Brogan and Codey attend had a missions sale to wrap up their year. The kids had made some items during a couple of the past KFC meetings and they were asked to also bring some items from home if they could. We spent some time Tuesday for our Art time to make a few things to take. We made picture frames, cross shaped boxes and a prayer board. They love to paint so they had lots of fun doing it.

Even Christian and Rylen helped make some!

The kids worked the sale on their own and made over $60! The money will be given to a missionary to help with their support or their mission efforts.

Diva

Well, she isn't really a "Diva" but it was a cute title.
She wanted me to take pictures of her the other day while she was being silly with my hat so here they are.

It sure is tough...

...to be the MAN of this house!

NOT!!

Last night Codey and Brogan were fighting over who was going to put on Jeremy's socks and shoes so they could go get some movies.

Guess who won?!

Neither, they each took a foot but that face is priceless!

Special Note: No one has ever argued over who is going to put my shoes on. I don't know what that says, but I do know that I don't have stinky feet so that can not be the problem. We will just leave it at that!

Stinky Smelly Hands

As I was giving Rylen a bath tonight I said "Let me wash those stinky smelly hands". His reply, "I like stinky hands". Oh so much boy!!!

Father Daughter Banquet

Our church had their annual Father Daughter Banquet tonight and Jeremy and Brogan were so excited to be going!  They were even more excited than they were last year!!  Brogan actually wore a girly, frilly dress, which is so unusual for her, and she was excited beyond measure.  Of course, she did have to get new shoes for it so it made it all that much better.  She looked so beautiful....

The entire time I was doing her hair, and a little bit of make-up, I just kept forseeing 20 years from now (hopefully, at least!) on her special day.  She was so excited, I think I already said that, and couldn't stop talking about the evening.  Jeremy was excited too.  He was excited for their dance together (another 20 years or so moment) and had to wear just the right thing.  They are a beautiful pair...

As they were getting ready, and I was taking the pictures, I couldn't help but think of how much I miss my Daddy.  I couldn't help but think of the Homecoming and Prom pictures we took together and that evening at my wedding.  Oh, how I miss him so very much.  I am so blessed to have a daddy for my daughter that mirrors mine so much.  They are two great men!

New Additions to the Family

Joshua and Codey recently made HUGE purchases (with their own $$$!)  and insist that they will take full responsibility and care for these two little girls.  That we will have to wait and see about.

As Codey explained it..."Come on Mom.  Do you know what it feels like to have something of your very own that YOU are responsible for?  Something that YOU can take care of and name and it is all YOURS!?"  My reply..."YES, I have FIVE of them!!!"  To which his response was a roll of the eyes and shake of the head, with a little smirk.

Needless to say, they are here in our backyard and I have to admit, as does Jeremy, they are really cute.

Here are the new additions to our family!!

Meet Keely (Joshua's)
He, by the way, researched a name and decided on this one since it is Irish for "lovely".

Meet Mopar (Codey's)
She came with a name that Codey thought was really cool so he kept it.

Alpha Omega had their Junior High Sports Banquet this past Monday evening and we were in attendance since Joshua participated in basketball and track.  We didn't know Joshua was getting an award but HE DID!!!  He received the Lion Award for the track team.  WooHoo!!

The Lion Award is given to a student who...

We are just overjoyed to have a son who is a positive example and role model for his peers, and stands out to his teachers and coaches.  Way to go Joshua!!

HGSA Family Fun Day

Brogan's softball game this past weekend was alot fun. She hit the ball but was thrown out at first base and although she was kind of bummed about that, she was so excited that she got to pitch. She has been wanting pitch all season but this was her first game to pitch in. She did really good, even having a strike called and some of the girls swinging at her pitches. She had fun and her team received third place in the Family Fun Day tournament.

God's Laughter Fellowship

Our Sunday School class had a fellowship over the weekend and it was so nice to be able to get together and visit with some awesome, loving people.  The kids had fun fishing and playing baseball while the adults enjoyed conversation, and everyone enjoyed the food!  We are very blessed to have a great Sunday School class!

All Boy

Rylen is all boy!!

I don't know if I can live through this one...he is all over the place, all of the time! I have found him in places you don't even want to know and then I found him here...

YEP!!
On top of the dresser in his closet because he wanted a box of toys that was up there.

Just so you know, the step stool that he used to get on top of the barstool, that he used to get on top of the dresser, was his Daddy's **bright** idea for their closet...NOT mine!!

Little Tykes Rodeo

It is that time of year again...FAIR TIME!

He has been counting down since this time last year..."Is it time for my rodeo yet?"
The last two weeks has been..."___ many days 'til MY rodeo Mom!"...EVERY DAY!!!

And, here we finally are...Rodeo Night!!!

Christian did very well this year in the Little Tykes Rodeo at our county fair!  At first he was kind of nervous but he stepped up and did it all this year!

His roping needs a lot of work but he had fun trying...

He was fast on the stick horse and with the times that they announced for the winners I think he would have come in 4th, but they only award the top three...

And, then we had the most famous event of them all....Run and Touch the Blue Heeler!  Yep, you read that right.  They usually touch a calf that is being held down but, someone complained that it was inhumane to hold down the calf while the kids ran up and touched it, so they had to change it to a dog that they touched.  Really?  Inhumane?  We're at a rodeo people!  They ride, rope and tie down animals for money!

Anyway, Christian is one fast little boy!
So fast that he...WON FIRST PLACE!!!!

Rylen won't be old enough to participate until next year but he wanted to do it so bad.  So, after it was over we let him do the events by himself.  He didn't know, he was just having fun and thought he was doing everything his big brother was doing.  One of the ladies gave Brogan a participation ribbon and Brogan tried to give it back bt she told her to keep it.  It's a good thing we did because we gave it to Rylen and he was SO HAPPY!!!  He thought he won just like Christian!

It was a great night at the rodeo...the BEST one I have ever been to!!  Here are some fun pics...
