2016 Family Pictures

Well, this about sums up this year's family photos.  It s always a challenge to get everyone together now that the older boys are working and on their own schedules.  Then, well, then we have the cooperation issue.  You would think it would get better as they got older but instead the joking continues to grow.  (And I wouldn't want it any other way.  Most of the time!)

Though this year's photos were not our favorites we still had a few good shots that came of it.

This crew.  How proud I am of them.  How I love them so.
I am very thankful for each of them.  We are simply blessed.

Family Pics 2015

So, it was time for our annual family portraits.  I think it is the only actual family tradition that we have so after 2 reschedules I was determined to make it happen.  After all, third time is a charm, right!?  Well, it went from pretty and nice weather to cold, rainy and windy overnight.  Joshua was actually home from college without any of the other kiddos having anything to do so it didn't matter that it was rainy.  We were doing pictures!  Dollar General umbrellas to the rescue and viola....

A few unique family photos!!

Florida Vacation

Our first family vacation (other than camping trips) was planned around a trip that we had to take for the Homeschool World Series.  Codey's baseball team was competing so we thought we would make a fun and educational trip out of the experience.  Here is a look at the stops along the way...

Mobile, Alabama: USS Alabama Battleship & Submarine

The Hungry Owl as seen on "Man vs. Eats"- Jeremy ordered the burger that was uggested from the show and ate every mouthwatering bite

LegoLand

Daytona Beach

Homeschool World Series: There were 25 teams from 10 states.  The team placed 14th overall, 6th in their division.

Poppy Camp 2011

Back in October we had our 2nd annual Poppy Camp with family.  We celebrated my dad and looked back on 2 years without him.  The kids had a blast even though it stormed most of the weekend.

DJ B and her Backup Singers

They were so cute making up songs and of course, Brogan was the lead singer.  Ry and Christian made up the backup singers and dancers.  It is always so sweet to see them playing well together  :)

Ummm, rain? What's that?

It hasn't rained here in forever.  Literally, forever it seems.  Each time there is a little rain in town it has bypassed us and we haven't recieved a drop of it.  Until last nighth and today that is.  There was a thunderstorm that came thru.  It stormed most of the night and rained into the early part of the day.  The kids loved playing out the rain!  It had been soooo long!

Lifeguards in Training

We had our first swim of the summer at a friend's pool while they were away for the weekend.  We traded pool time in exchange for watering plants!

The kids were so funny to watch now that they can get around the pool.  They made up this dramatic rescue scene where Brogan was the lifeguard and Christian  and Rylen had to be rescued.  It was very intricate and had lots of details.  The picture just doesn't do it justice!

Meet the Bag Family

They played with these bagsfor at least 2 hours.  In fact, I know it was longer because I took this photo at the 2 hour mark and after this made belts and hats to go with their heads.  They had a blast!  I am never amazed at how much fun they can have with something so simple.  It is the exact reason that we don't buy toys.  They always seem to find something to do that is so much more creative!

Our Thanksgiving Vacation

We don't usually get to take family vacations but this year we planned way in advance and made sure we had the time to take one.  Jeremy, Joshua and Codey missed two days of school and we headed out to West Texas to the mountains.  We were gone a week and visited three state parks and several other neat places.  Brogan had lots of great things that covered history and science and, most importantly, we enjoyed God's creation.  We spent Christian's 5th birthday camping and he loved every minute of it.  here is just a little recap of our mile-filled week...

Happy 14th!

2 "I Do's", 5 kiddos, and 14 years later...

Happy Anniversary!!!

Jeremy planned for us to go out to dinner today.  He set up for a babysitter, hence son #1 Joshua, and we went out for a quick bite to a nice place, just the two of us.  They had already eaten dinner so we told the kids that while we were gone they couldn't use the stove, oven or microwave.  When we got home we came home to a surprise for us from the kids...

 Fresh Baked Cookies!  Yummy!

It was so sweet of them!  Yep, they made it for us.  It was a group effort.

They used the microwave and oven.  But, it was for a good cause I guess.  Thanks kiddos!  All of you are so super sweet and we love you!     *PSST: Next Time Obey!*

Dress Up Fun

The kids have been bugging me about Halloween and what they want to be.  I don't buy or make ellaborate costumes for them so they basically have to use what we have or be creative.  Brogan asked if I would get "the box" down from the attic so they could look in it.  They had a blast going through it!

I heard this conversation taking place at one point:  Brogan "I think I'm going to be a princess."  Christian "Brogan, You ARE a princess!"  Brogan "No, I mean for Halloween."  They were so sweet and cute!

Then...

It was all in fun though!

Family Camp-out

We camped at Huntsville State Park this weekend with lots of family.  This has been planned for a year and we were supposed to be at Galveston State Park to celebrate the life of my dad.  We were supposed to anyway.  Instead, Joshua got the part of Jem in TKMB and my Mom felt bead missing his opening night.  "Your Dad wouldn't want to miss opening night." she said.  So, everyone moved their reservations to Huntsville and almost everyone attended opening night.  It was agreat weekend of relaxing, remembering and fun for the kids. Here are just some quick pics..
