High School Graduation

Well, Pine Prairie High School has graduated it's first student!!  I have to say that I am super proud of this guy and all of his accomplishments over the years.  He has been very busy keeping up with school, work, community service and leadership positions within the community and church.  Hard to believe he only has a couple more months at home and then he is off on his own.

Senior Pics

Well, I can't believe it is here.  Time for our first born to graduate high school.  Where has the time gone?

We are in our 7th year of homeschooling and it seems that this whole homeschooling thing is actually feasible.  This kid is pretty great on his own though without much help from me.  Here are some fun shots from our Senior Photo Session....

Have you guessed where he is headed??

Yep, He's going to be an Aggie!  Whoop!!

He plans to major in Economics with a specialization in International Affairs.  He is going to have be fluent in a foreign language to accomplish that Masters degree.  Language of choice, he thinks,....Mandarin Chinese.  We know he can do anything he sets his mind to.  Good Luck, Boss!!

Bingo!

The kids and I have been volunteering at the Senior Citizen's Center a couple of times per month. All we do is call Bingo and play for a few that can't see to play themselves but they love it. You would think its a party every time we go. They get so excited and just love it.

Today we took a few of our friends along with us!

Twisted 12th

Brogan wanted to have pretzels and dipping sauces at her birthday party so we asked the pretzel place to take the birthday party there. They loved the idea and said yes so we took the girls there. They got to learn how to make pretzels and they made their own pretzels. They had a great time!!

See You at the Pole

Today was "See You at the Pole" nationally. As homeschoolers we don't have a traditional school to go to so we gathered on the lawn of the courthouse to pray. It was the first time we have done this in our community and we were excited about the turn out!

1st game, 1st win!

This is a new season for Brogan's soccer team as they had to make a choice on which new league they wanted to play in. As a team we decided to leave the league we played under last year and try to go independent. With that, came a choice of where to play and who to play under. We decided to play up a division. With this we knew the kids would have a challenge ahead of them. They are playing u13 (the kids on our team range in age from 9-12) and play up into a higher division. We went into today just hoping they would play hard and learn some things along the way. They played hard and in the end....

They won!

The score was tied 5-5 with just a few seconds left and we scored on a penalty shot to win the game 6-5. They played hard, played as a team, and came out on top in the end!  Way to go, Huntsville Eclipse Elite!!!

Well, we are officially in the full swing of the school year. We started off slowly with just a few subjects but now at 3 weeks in we have everything in full swing. Here's to a fun-filled year!
