2016 Family Pictures

Well, this about sums up this year's family photos.  It s always a challenge to get everyone together now that the older boys are working and on their own schedules.  Then, well, then we have the cooperation issue.  You would think it would get better as they got older but instead the joking continues to grow.  (And I wouldn't want it any other way.  Most of the time!)

Though this year's photos were not our favorites we still had a few good shots that came of it.

This crew.  How proud I am of them.  How I love them so.
I am very thankful for each of them.  We are simply blessed.

Happy Birthday, BossMan

We had a fun day today celebrating Joshua today!!
He was home for a few days to work so we were able to spend his actual birthday with him.
19!!!!!
How did it come so fast!?!

We went out to the soccer field for some fun family time.  The weather was beautiful!
Perfect for some hammocking and kicking around of the soccer ball.

Walker County Ag Booster Show

B went to her second show with Rawlings this weekend.  Rawlings was pretty feisty in the early part of the day and was not as cooperative as B would have liked.  She finally settled down when it was time to go into the show ring.

They ended up 2nd in their weight class and had a much better showing with Showmanship than they did in the first show.  Working ad prepping for the Walker County Fair in just 9 weeks!

Scramble Heifer Banquet & 1st Show

This week was a busy week for some of the Scramble Heifer kids.  First, they had their Donor Banquet to say a big "THANK YOU!" to all of the donors for this year.  There was a great speaker and wonderful fajitas and time to just be dressed up and have fun.
Just the girls well, because, you know, they are what matters!

Next some of the Scramble Heifer kids went to a prospect show.  We were 100% unprepared and had no idea what to expect.  The whole day was definetly a learning experience.  We didn't have anything to bathe her with, had to buy a comb and borrow a show halter and a blower.  She was learning on the fly but was eager to give it a try...

Showmanship did not go great as they asked some questions that Brogan was unprepared for and had no idea of as these are donated and not all of the information was given by the donors.  It was great learning experience as now we know what to go back ad ask the donor.

Rawlings was up to 818 lbs. this week so it put her in the 3rd weight class.  After showmanship she was more nervous but more relaxed in a way as well.  This time it was all about how Rawlings did and B was up for the challenge!

After a number of minutes of going back and forth between Rawlings and another heifer the places were finally handed out.  Brogan thought she was in the running for last place when in reality she was in the running for first!  She ended up 2nd in her weight class!!!  Talk about a great first show!

Brogan was so excited!!  All of the kids did a great job in their weight classes!
Way to go, Walker County!!
