Mini-Staycation

We had a mini one-day staycation right here in our hometown of Huntsville and visited a few places that we have never been before. There is so much here yet we never take advantage of it so I thought we would get out of the house for a few hours and see what Huntsville has to offer.
First, we went to the Sam Houston Statue. This statue is the tallest in the world of an American hero. And it is TALL! I got a picture of everyone by the statue but they look like ants. We also took some pictures with just the head of Sam Houston. There was a step behind it so you could peek over. Jeremy wanted me to take this picture of the shadow that the statue was putting off. We have never been out here before but it is a beautiful and quiet place. A great place to have a picnic lunch or bring a group.
After the statue we went to the Wynne Home Art Muesem. We had never been there before either and the kids definetly did not want to do this one. Once we got inside though and read the history of the home and the children that lived there they thought it was really neat. While we were there we signed up Codey, Brogan and myself for a few classes at only $10 each.
After the muesems we stopped by the Duck Pond for a little bit of fun and then grabbed a bite to eat before heading home for some much needed afternoon naps.

Then we went to lunch at The Farmhouse which has yummy food for everyone and after our tummies were full we headed home for naps, because you always take a nap on vacation!
