Joshua came home and showed me his 3rd place ribbon for the school Spelling Bee. I gave him a great big hug and told him I was so proud of him. He had a big smile. Then I said "No really, Joshua. I am VERY proud of you on your 3rd place finish. This means we don't have to spend a Saturday up at the Regional Spelling Bee!" He gave me one of his looks and laughed. I know that it is bad but really, who wants to spend their Saturday at a Spelling Bee? I would have been just as proud of his 1st or 2nd place finish. And, I would have sent Jeremy with him on the Saturday! Not really, I wouldn't have missed it for the world. But, by all measures I am still proud of his 3rd place finish. Way to go Joshua!!
